Definition Of Obesity Defined By Obese People
The definition of obesity depends on who you are asking and a better definition can be found by asking obese people how is obesity defined in their lives. The real life stories of obese people shed new light on being overweight and obese.
In my research, from the standpoint of obese women, I have found that research universities and scientists have a varying standard clinical definition of obesity to define the general study or physical state of being an overweight or obese person.
“What is Obesity?” Do obesity diseases really mean obesity is a “dis-ease”?
Are “OBESE PEOPLE” the epidemic? Or is Weight gain the epidemic?
What is life like for women who are labeled as obese women?
How do obese people over come the cruelty and labels of society?
The assumed answers to these questions are why I launched this inside research on obesity.
My hopes are that obese people as a team can offer obesity help to educate non-obese people and build a community of support for obese women, men, and children wanting obesity help from people that can truly relate to all that comes with being overweight in the eyes of the world.
A simple definition of obesity is as follows:
“The condition of being obese; increased body weight caused by excessive accumulation of fat”.
But what is obesity really? There must be more to it. There definitely is more to it. Finding the definition of obesity that fits us individually is not easy. Every person has his or her own metabolic rate. This is the rate at which calories are used or burned by the body.
People who exercise often or work in strenuous jobs usually have a very high metabolic rate. They require a lot of calories, but burn them off easily. People who do not exercise or live a physically active lifestyle tend to gain weight on less calories and risk becoming obese people quickly.
Personally I think that the obesity definition defined above is correct but being obese is not as simple as the few words listed above. Obesity becomes a way of life for obese people. In other pages we talked about the causes and effects of obesity. There are many other conditions that being overweight causes. Such as, spiritual, mental health and emotional issues.
Obesity diseases the heart and mind of an obese person because the “dis-ease” of being overweight can be overwhelming, especially for obese women. The looks and the whispers, the pain of looking into the eyes of people we love as well as those that we dont even know. And more so, the people that dont even know us.
Fortunately an obese person, dealing with the ever-changing research definitions of obesity, can learn to over come many of the external dis-eases and chalk up most of the cruelty as coming from people who have some pretty major personal issues themselves but find an escape by looking for faults in others.
No one is perfect in any way. By staying focused on our own lives we can build patience and understanding of others even when the frustration makes us want to scream out, “can’t we all just get along!”
